User Interface Designer

Founded in 1992, Artificial Mind and Movement is a Montreal based videogame developer specializing in the creation of interactive action-adventure games. A2M's experience developing quality licensed games and original titles have made it one of the premier game developers in Canada.

A2M’s User Experience Team is looking for talented Interface Designers. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing user interfaces and motion graphics for A2M titles. The Interface Designer will be a part of conceptualizing, overall design, and creation of assets for the user interface.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Translate creative direction into engaging, functional, and friendly user interface designs for gaming platforms
  • Combine design theory, content hierarchy, navigational structure and usability design to create powerful and immersive user experiences
  • Collaborate with Interface Designers, Art Directors and Creative Directors to ensure designs are consistent with overall expectations and project goals
  • Work within project schedules and deadlines
  • Identify, address and solve problems as they relate to interface design
  • Originate new concepts, strategies, or innovative approaches that have significant impact on the company
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years design experience at an interactive agency or equivalent
  • A portfolio of design work
  • Education in New Media or a traditional design equivalent
  • Expertise using Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Flash
  • Experience with design theories related to color theory, use of space, typography, usability and visual flow
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
