Multimedia Specialist
Help us discover new and innovative ways to engage Pennsylvania communities and beyond with knowledge and opportunities for lifelong learning. Penn State Public Broadcasting is a mission-driven media organization that provides unique content through radio, television, and online channels.
With the evolving needs of our multi-platform communications, we're looking for a talented and experienced graphic and Web designer to join our growing multimedia team. You will not only support our WPSU broadcast divisions, but also our Educational Services, Media Sales, and Creative Services groups.
You should be equally comfortable conceptualizing and producing a wide variety of visual communications for the Web and print. Further opportunities are available in broadcast television graphics and/or multimedia authoring projects. The ability to work as a team player, collaborate effectively with a diverse-range of clients throughout the design process, and efficiently manage your time among multiple projects is a must.
This job will be filled as baseline, intermediate, or mid-level, depending upon the successful candidate’s education and experience. Minimum educational and work-related experience requirements are: Associate’s degree in information systems, digital media design, graphic design or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications: *Proficiency with current design tools (CS3 Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) Demonstrated proficiency in html and CSS-based site layout Excellent writing and editing skills Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to diversity
Desired Experience: *Interactive Flash development Multimedia authoring (DVD, Blu-ray), including user interface design Knowledge of motion graphics software (After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Motion)
This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
